Diana Castagna was born in Los Angeles, California (USA). In 1984 she graduated from Santa Monica City College in Los Angeles receiving an Associate in Arts Degree, majoring in Fine Arts. In 2007 she received a diploma in satire cartooning from Scuola Romana dei Fumetti, in Rome, Italy. She worked in advertising agencies in Los Angeles at Lynn Medberry Associates and in New York City at Ketchum, Hicks/Greist.

In 2007 and 2008 she published cartoons in the Italian weekly political newspaper Linea and in the prestigious bimonthly English language magazine for Rome, Wanted In Rome. In the Italian daily newspaper, America Oggi, published in the United States, an article was written about her New York City art exhibition. In 1977 she received a letter of acknowledgement from the American Consul General, at the American Embassy in Rome, Italy, on behalf of the new President Jimmy Carter for a portrait she had drawn of him and sent to the embassy.

In 1989 she held an individual exhibition of paintings and drawings at the America-Italy Society, Inc. in New York City and in another exhibition in Rome, Italy, she displayed a series of portraits. She submitted a video for a short feature film contest in Rome called “Estate a Roma Estate Romana”, organized by Mediateca Roma and it was chosen among the most successful videos.

Since 1994 she has been teaching English as a foreign language in Rome, Italy, and recently in Cambridge and Oxford, England. CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and CELTYL (Certificate in English Language Teaching Young Learners) qualified, through the university of Cambridge, England. She has been free-lancing in cartooning since 2007.

Ha pubblicazioni del 2007 e 2008 di vignette nel foglio di satira politica Linea e nella rivista prestigiosa bimensile Wanted in Rome. Nel quotidiano italiano America Oggi, pubblicato negli Stati Uniti, le è stato dedicato un articolo sulla sua mostra personale a New York City. Nel 1977 ricevette una lettera di riconoscimento dal Console Generale Americano dell’Ambasciata Americana a Roma, da parte del nuovo Presidente Jimmy Carter per il ritratto che gli fece e che inviò all’ambasciata.

Nel 1989 ha esposto quadri in una mostra personale a New York City alla America-Italy Society, Inc. e successivamente a Roma ha esposto una serie di ritratti. A Roma ha sviluppato applicazioni tecnico artistiche nel settore filmistico. Ha ottenuto un discreto successo nel concorso video “Estate a Roma Estate Romana”, bandito dalla Mediateca Roma. Il suo corto metraggio è stato incluso fra i lavori scelti per la proiezione finale al pubblico.

Dal 1994 a Roma, e inoltre, negli ultimi anni a Oxford e Cambridge, insegna inglese, sua madrelingua, munita di certificato CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) e CELTYL (Certificate in English Language Teaching Young Learners) rilasciati dall’università di Cambridge. Lavora free-lance come vignettista dal 2007.
